The "New Dad" paradigm

I recently read an article which gave rise for me to write the following: I can not tell you how many times I have been asked (or Riley has) "Are you hanging out with daddy today?", "Is dad baby-sitting?", "Is mom getting a break?", etc. It would bother me and I would respond telling them he is always with me since I stay home. Dads are more involved with their kids these days, but still not like most moms.

At the Movies- for 8/10- Skinwalkers

Not a lot was going on at the movie this week, with quite a few kiddy type movies out, and I sure did not want to be in theater full of 10 year old girls to watch Stardust. We had noticed Skinwalkers previewed during the movie Captivity, which I reviewed prior.

As a change from my normal fare, this week I ventured to one of my other genre favs, character-based, secret agent, action, adventure, cliff-hanger flicks. I do so like James Bond type movies and I fell into the Bourne series quite by accident.

Bummer ... no more cheap snacks

Blockbuster has ended the snack card! If you remember, I had posted that Blockbuster had introduced a Snack card that was $6 that allowed the holder one month of free snacks with any movie rental, whether it was rentals with money or free rentals. This was a very good deal for anyone who was a Blockbuster Total Access member, as it would be a $6 investment for free Cokes, popcorn, ice cream, candy, what have you ....
